            Write girls

Thanks to the spectacular @Alybee930, I had the chance to speak to a wonderful group of Write Girls this weekend who are all – already – fabulous writers! Though I was only there for the fiction half of their non-fiction/fiction session, I was so impressed with the entire day. With a mentor for every girl to work with, and a journal for every girl to write in, and guest writers to offer critique and writing exercises, the Write Girls program is a well-oiled machine.

Here I am with (L) Keren Taylor, Program Director, and another fabulous writer and my workshop co-leader, (M) Sherri Smith, author of FLYGIRL, named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, 2010. I'm the goofball on the right.

And just for fun, here is me looking even goofballier in front of a crowd:

    Hi!!!
I don’t know if you remember me or not from the workshop, but I won your book and have been reading it every chance I get. I am having a hard time putting it down, but school has been getting in the way. :/
I just wanted to connect with you again and thank you so much for sitting down and talking with me. It was much appreciated.
THE BOOK IS AMAZING!!! The description of that little town and the feeling I get when I sit down with this book is indescribable. :)
    Much love,
    Jaclyn Cole
